[ How the gift got to her is a mystery, but she'll find a gift sitting in front of her home from Squall. It's a small box and if she were to look inside of it she'll find a handmade pendant that looked similarly to this beast inside.
I know things have been rough... and you're probably still beating yourself up, but stop it. Things happen. It wasn't even your fault. Anyway... I thought the best thing I could give you something to help protect you. He's a sign of great strength and wisdom and I thought if you had it, it might make you feel better protected.
[For someone who sleep-talks and broadcasts her dreams already, the network being on the fritz only makes it that much easier for Elphelt to inadvertently connect to it in her sleep. More likely than not, the fact Cloche herself is in Elphelt's dream is why she is the one it connects with.
Even asleep, her enthusiasm and imagination is overwhelming, so her dream essentially swallows Cloche's whole. The setting is a huge tower. The view is from a room at the very top, in which the beautiful Princess Cloche, clad in her pure gown, bemoans being imprisoned in this tower, with nothing to but sing beautifully from the window when not feeling crippled by the horrifying loneliness. Or, at least, that is how Elphelt in this dream imagines Cloche.
There is a barred window and a locked door, neither of which can be opened or damaged by Cloche--because, of course, the princess is not allowed to escape under her own power. That is not how fairy tales work and those are the rules this dream follows. After what seems like eternity, the door to the room is thrown open, revealing Elphelt! Her hair is pink, as it was before she left Verens months ago, and she is clad in the uniform of the Sacred Knight, albeit pink and with both more cleavage and less pants. In her hand is her sword.]
Do not fear, Miss Cloche, you are not alone anymore!
[...The urge to develop the vapors may come to Cloche's mind.]
[While she had been dreaming about home, her home turning to a tower and the feeling of imprisonment was always looming so this wasn't anything too new to her.
What is new is the sudden motion of the door opening and Elphelt there, proclaiming she is no longer alone. This was a new addition to her dream, as was the overwhelming need to fan herself.
...wait, why was she needing to fan herself?! She's doing that anyway, but...?! CUE SOME CONFUSION.]
[Elphelt has done it a few times already and it would be a lie to say she didn't enjoy it, so it is only natural she would dream about it. She wants to protect Cloche SO MUCH.
She steps into the room, brandishing her big baker's knife of a sword. Clearly scaling this tower has been an adventure.]
You don't need to worry any longer.
[As she says that, there is a sound behind her. Elphelt turns on her heel, shrieking at what she sees. There, attempting to enter the room, is one of the many hideous beasts inhabiting this tower, intent on keeping the beautiful Princess Cloche under its disgusting grip!
...It's a big shrimparoo.
Elphelt shrieks again before slamming the door shut and dragging a bookshelf to block the door.]
[And then the giant shrimparoo poises to attack! She sees it behind Elphelt and as she points it out she sees her friend turn to scream. It was a terrible monster now? But the shrimparoos are cute, why would they be the terrible monsters?
She doesn't know it's not her own dream yet, so she's confused on why she would need to be protected by it.]
But why is the shrimparoo a monster? It's so cute in its ugly-cute way...
Someone took a perfectly good kangaroo and replaced half of it with a deep-sea bug-monster! Their little claw-feet are so creepy.
[Loving the shrimparoo doll gifted to her has been difficult, but she has done her best. The beasts are more tolerable in a small plush-form, for what it is worth. A gift from a beloved friend is too important, even if half of it is cursed to be arthropodal.
...Well, anyway, Elphelt struts over to Cloche, looking proud of herself.]
So, does the whole True Love thing happen now or...do I need to get you out first? Hmm.
[Elphelt is usually the princess in the dream when there is one...]
The-- the true love thing...?! What are you talking about?
[She'll forgive the creepy comment about the shrimparoo for now, focusing on Elphelt's mention of true love thing. What was she talking about and what did she mean by that...?! She's a little worried now.]
[ He falls silent for a moment after hearing that. He royally messed up when he was dealing with Cloche... He doesn't care that he was under the influence of the fog, he should have been able to fight it. ]
I would like... to apologize to you for everything, but I'd like to do it in person.
[ He takes a deep breath before leaving their connection to start gathering up his things to go. He didn't expect Cloche to forgive him right away. And maybe not even at all, but he was going to do his best to show her he appreciated her and his actions were completely wrong.
By the time Squall reached the park, he was probably a little late, but he wasn't coming empty handed though. He had a container filled with what looked to be messy but also yummy looking cupcakes. On top of the container was a small box as well.
He glanced around the park wondering if he'd notice her standing around.]
[She's been there for a little bit, and when she finally catches sight of him, she waves her hand over her head to catch his attention. What was it that he was holding...?
When he approaches, she examines him, the container, and the box curiously. If he was worried she was too angry, his fears can be lessened just a little: the Griever necklace is still around her neck, that hasn't gone anywhere.]
[ He clears his throat a little, finding it hard to look her in the eyes right now. ]
Look. I didn't mean what I said back there... The fog... was messing with my head and I said a lot of things I didn't mean. But I know I hurt you and I'm sorry.
[So she's not mad at him for that, in that sense... but it was what he had said that she didn't like and that had made her upset.]
If you act like that again, I won't forgive you. But do not call me 'princess' ever again.
[She doesn't want that distinction here, not now and not ever. She's basically one back home and she never asked for that title nor the ideal of it. Not that Squall knows it, but her warning should suffice... though she should actually tell him why at some point.]
You won't hear... that name coming out of my mouth ever again, I promise you.
[ He frowns even more, letting his head fall. The more he heard his voice the more he worried that she would never forgive him. They were friends, or so he thought anyway, but... to have her this angry at him, it was torture. ]
[She regards him for a moment, debating on what he should know and what she still wants to keep quiet.]
...Maiden of Mio. Or, I guess some call me the Maiden of Ruin. [She likes that name even less.] I was treated like I was royalty, and I didn't like it. So... I don't want to hear anything like that.
There's this game back home... called Triple Triad. It's pretty popular and most of the cards are of monsters, but the rarer ones... are of important people. It's not quite the same, but... I thought it might be a fun to make you a card.
[She looks at the card for a few moments, really studying it and letting his words really sink in. She doesn't take her eyes off of the card, knowing she'll probably cry if she does.]
I don't have many friends. I don't want to lose the friends I have, either.
I'm... not very good at making friends, but I know I don't want to lose you as one. And I'm working... on making sure I don't fall under some stupid whatever that was again.
[It takes her a moment to where she can look up at him without getting upset, finally, and she speaks matter-of-factly as best she can.]
Then we're still friends. You've said sorry, and you've given me something as an apology too, so I accept and we're still friends. But next time I'll have to execute you.
12-25

[Voice]
What.
[Voice]
Can we... meet in person. When you aren't busy that is...
[Voice]
[....she's not really happy, but while she understands that the fog may have had a part in this...]
[Voice]
I would like... to apologize to you for everything, but I'd like to do it in person.
[Voice]
Fine. Where?

You took too long.
[action]
I... made a miscalculation, it's fine.
[ He got lost.
He frowned thoughtfully, shifting so he could place the box and container down on the table where she was sitting. ]
[action]
[O...kay...
Well, she does give a look over at the container and the box, and back at Squall.]
What are these?
[action]
[ He clears his throat a little, finding it hard to look her in the eyes right now. ]

That's what you should be bowing your head in apology for, but you did go to the trouble of the cupcakes and to say sorry anyway...
[So he won't have to do that this time.]
That will do.
[action]
[action]
[...but, well, he did go out of his way to get her something so... she picks up the box to open it to see what's inside.]
